Welp, I finally got the video done on the many steps it takes to make the most beautiful and durable oak swing on the web,. I take great pride of my heritage of building quality furniture. It is definitely a Labor of Love, I'm sure that I could cut corners on some of the steps it takes, but I build my oak swings, rockers and gliders to last for a life time.

When ever you watch my videos, ask your self, is all the other websites doing what I'm doing ? I bet they would never show you how they build their furniture. I would even say they are buying their material already cut and planned down, wear all they have to do is assemble them, but who knows they might be buying over seas and not even take them out of the box. So, please when your shopping around for outdoor furniture, ask your self, do you want a true hand "Made, build in the America" quality build oak swing, rocker or glider?

Visit my YouTube channel to see the videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/oakswings

Thank you,

Finally, a glider for your porch with the same quality as all our other products!

Oak gliders hand-made by Doug Mrock continues the Old World tradition of craftsmanship started by Herman F. Mrock, four generations ago.

"Quality never cost as much as it saves!!!"

Oak Gliders Feature:

Real Solid Oak, unlike less durable cedar, pine or redwood

No nails, staples, or brads to pull loose

All edges rounded and sanded smooth

Seats and backs are contoured for maximum comfort

Swing seats have rounded front plate

Main cross support 1.25' x 3.25' Solid Oak!

Runners made of Solid Oak

Hangers that connect the seat to the cradle- all made of Solid Oak Each glider is handmade and quality built.

These gliders are the finest made. With extra thick main supports, seats and backs, rounded front plates, thick slats attached with countersunk screws that are filled and hand sanded, your glider is built to last. It's as beautiful as it is durable. These aren't mass-produced gliders. Special attention is given to every detail of the gliders. They are the finest, heavy duty gliders,hand-made by Doug Mrock. His name and glider serial number are burned into each glider. Great Grandfather Mrock would be proud of Doug's gliders. You will be proud of yours too.

With all that being said, please don't wait until the last minute to buy one of my Solid Oak Swing, Rocker, FlipFootRest or one of my Gliders. I want everyone to get their swing before "Santa Claus Comes to Town". I am working hard to make sure that all orders are filled and are shipped within the same week of the order. Just remember, "Quality Never Goes Out Of Style".

My Oak Rockers/Chairs are very strong and could withstand a bunch of weight already. So, I will custom build a heavy duty Oak Swing,Rocker and Chair for the Big and Tall. I hope this will help all the people out there that just can't find a durable well built piece of furniture.

Well Summer is just about over, and the kids are getting back to school, but it's just now turning into the perfect time to go out and do some front porch swinging. It sure has been a hot Summer down here in the South, hopefully these hot days will start cooling down where a person can go outside and not die of a heat stroke. I think the best time of the year is Fall. Sitting on the porch with friends and watching College Football (Go Vols) and doing some Bar-B-Que grilling. So, if you think it's too late to buy a porch swing, it's not, it's the best time to buy one. If you have all your friends over, you want to make sure you have plenty of seats for them. If you would like more than one Oak Chair or Rocker, I will cut the cost down on the price of my Oak Furniture, depending on how many you would like.

So call me for your very own multi-item discount!

Remember when a summer would seem that it would last forever, and a day would go by slowly. Now, there is never enough time in a day. I miss going to my grandparents house after church and the whole family would bring a covered dish to add to the dinner table, and there was enough food for a small army, fried chicken, mashed potatos, corn on the cob, and you can't forget the desserts, banana pudding , and my Grandmother made the best chocolate pie you ever eaten, everything was made from scratch. Once everyone had there belly full,we all went out to the front porch and talked about how everyone's week had gone. My Grand parents had two porch swings, one on each end. Those where days, but, it is still possible to bring those days back. It seems like there is always a Grandparent that will offer you something every time you come over for a visit, so why not try a start and get the family together for Sunday dinners, not only will you get the best meal of the week, but you will make memories that will last a life time.

I would like to help make those memories with you, by offering a traditonal wooden porch swing , a swing that will be handed down for future generations, so they can talk about those Sunday dinners at Grandma's house. Just always remember, you can make all the money in the world, it's not what you have, it's what you leave behind. I want to leave my children with memories like I have, a simple time, and not always rushing from one appointment to another. There's no price tag on those times sitting on a front porch swing talking with your kids, and if there was, what would you pay?

I know there are thousands of websites that offer porch swings and it would be difficult to choose from. Some offer different designs, colors and types of wood, at low prices, but will they last? The only thing I can offer is a very durable swing that will be handed down to future generations. My porch swings don't have any fancy arm rest or cut out heart patterns, there built in the Old World Style, meaning Quality and comfort and built not for just a couple of years, but to last a life time. It is getting more difficult to compete against major warehouse retailers, help support a true American doing what he loves to do, building hand made in the USA porch swings.

With everything being so expensive any more, I try and keep my prices low. I want to continue selling quality swings/rockers, but I need the help of the people to keep me going. So, when you’re looking for a swing or anything else, please help the small business man, once there all gone, then we'll have to all go to the major outlets to get everything we need.

Thank you, Doug
